These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of bettercanadianjobs.ca and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, do not use the Service.
User / you / your — any person who accesses or uses the Service, whether as a job seeker, employer, visitor, or other.
Job Seeker — a user seeking employment, creating a profile, applying for jobs.
Employer / Recruiter — a user posting jobs, reviewing applications, contacting candidates.
Content — all data, text, images, job postings, resumes, messages, feedback, and other materials on the Service.
Account — credentials (username, password, etc.) enabling a user to access certain features of the Service.
By using the Service, you accept and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
We may modify or update these Terms at any time. Changes become effective upon posting the revised Terms (with new “Last updated” date). Continued use of the Service after changes implies acceptance of the new Terms.
We may notify you (e.g., by email or banner) of significant changes.
You must be at least 16 years old (or older if required by your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
To access certain features (job posting, application tracking, messaging), you must register an Account and provide accurate, up-to-date information.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities performed through your account.
You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or breach of your account.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
Posting false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent content
Harassing, abusing, or harming others
Violating intellectual property rights
Uploading viruses, malware, or harmful code
Interfering with or disrupting the Service or servers
Scraping, crawling, or data mining except as permitted
Using multiple accounts to evade restrictions or bans
Using the Service for spam, phishing, or unsolicited contact
Any unlawful purpose or violating applicable laws
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
You retain ownership of content you post (resumes, job descriptions, messages), but you grant BCJ a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, display, distribute, and modify that content to operate the Service.
You represent and warrant that you have the rights to post the content, that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.
BCJ’s logos, branding, site design, software, and all content provided by BCJ belong to us or our licensors, protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
Employers post job listings and review applications; Job Seekers apply.
When you apply or send messages, your application materials or messages are shared with the relevant employer or recipient.
Employers are responsible for how they use candidate data. BCJ is merely platform and not responsible for employer decisions or conduct.
We may moderate or remove content/posts that violate these Terms or applicable laws.

Some features or services may require payment or subscription. You agree to pay all fees in a timely manner.
We may change fees or introduce new charges; notice will be given in advance.
If you cancel a subscription, you may retain access until the end of the current billing period. No refunds unless explicitly stated.
If payment fails, we may suspend or terminate your access to paid features.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
BCJ does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content, job post, application, or replies.
BCJ is not responsible for the conduct or promises of any user, employer, or third party.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BCJ’s liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us (if any). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.
In no case will BCJ be liable beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BCJ and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, content you post, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.
You may terminate your account or stop using the Service at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your account or access for violation of these Terms, inactivity, or for other reasons, with or without notice.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends, but certain clauses (e.g., indemnification, limitation of liability, intellectual property rights) survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Province, Canada] (for example, Ontario, British Columbia, etc.). You may specify the province you are most comfortable with.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the courts of that province, unless alternate dispute resolution (like arbitration or mediation) is specified.
You and BCJ waive any objection to personal jurisdiction or inconvenient forum in those courts.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or parts of the Service at any time, without notice and without liability to you.
We may impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the Service.
If any term is found invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, that term will be deemed deleted or limited, but other terms remain in force.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision under these Terms does not waive our right to enforce it later.
These Terms (plus the Privacy Policy and any additional policies posted) constitute the entire agreement between you and BCJ with respect to the Service, replacing all prior or contemporaneous agreements, understandings, or communications.
